The term LPG stands for liquefied petroleum gas. LPG or autogas is being used by some car manufacturers in some of their newest vehicles. These type of cars use a variety of different fuels with the emphasis based on propane. LPG powered vehicles run much cleaner and more efficient. Other fuels used in the LPG cars include ethane and butane. Liquefied petroleum is currently used for heating in the United Kingdom, but is now being used to power automobiles in a way that will be less costly to the consumer. Autogas cars are better for the environment and are the latest in alternate fueled cars, designed to help combat the rising cost of oil.
There are several LPG car manufacturers that have already made these cars available on today’s market. BMW, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Ford, Mazda and countless others have already made LPG car sales to a large number of consumers. Although many of these vehicles are manufactured and sold overseas, you should expect to see many of those car manufactures begin selling in the United States.
LPG gas conversion or LPG conversion is another option for consumers that have already purchased a vehicle that was not equipped with the feature from the manufacturer. LPG conversion can be done to almost any vehicle. LPG gas conversion would allow the vehicle to operate on the traditional petrol gasoline as well as the money saving LPG.
